What are the fields indispensable for the development

This winter has been the warmest on record, with almost no snow falling in Toyama. I am curious about how this will affect this year's field cultivation and loofah growth, as well as the future weather. In any case, I can't wait for spring these days.

◆Root function and microorganisms

In order for plant roots to absorb water from the soil, sugar and sodium (Na+)・Potassium (K+) and other minerals. Plants develop long roots in the soil to support above-ground organs such as leaves, stems, and flowers. On the other hand, there are various living organisms in the soil, and the soil, which is protected from UV rays and maintains humidity, is an ideal environment for the growth of microorganisms.

Recently, it has been discovered that microorganisms in the soil form a symbiotic relationship in which they receive the energy and other nutrients they need to live from the plants' roots through photosynthetic products, while also supplying the plants with nutrients such as phosphorus and water in the soil. In this symbiotic relationship, microorganisms are responsible for supplying phosphorus, which is essential for supporting plant growth. In recent years, as the details of this symbiotic relationship have become clearer, emphasis has been placed on fostering a soil environment that supports the healthy growth of microorganisms, both in the conservation of the natural environment, especially forests, and in the cultivation of agricultural crops.
