The smaller the cluster, the easier it is to penetrate deep into the cell.

Loofah water is said to have the smallest clusters in nature.
Unlike when the cluster is artificially made smaller, it is in a very stable state.
Therefore, compared to the purified water used in general lotions, it has the characteristic that it absorbs much more easily when applied to the skin.

We have been growing them with care for over 40 years on our own farm.

Hechima Kochi's loofah water does not contain any preservatives, colorants, synthetic surfactants, or alcohol. The only processing is pasteurization and filtration.

For 40 years, we have been growing our products without using pesticides at our own farm in Imizu, Toyama Prefecture, where water flows from the melting snow of the Tateyama Mountain Range.
The seeds that have been passed down from generation to generation in Imizu, Toyama Prefecture have successfully germinated and grown vigorously this year. Around the time of the harvest moon, we harvest a year's worth of loofah water while being grateful for the new encounter with loofah water.

A moisturizing cream that uses 100% domestically produced high-purity horse oil and purified oil from hechima seeds grown without pesticides from our own farm in Toyama. Horse oil is said to be close to human sebum (fatty acid composition) and is gentle on the skin, and loofah seed oil*, purified from loofah, has the ability to penetrate deep into the stratum corneum, making it a cream for the face and whole body that keeps the skin moist and smooth. Recommended for moisturizing sensitive skin, dry skin, troubled skin, and a variety of skin types from babies to the elderly.

About horse oil

Horse oil has been used by the private sector to treat skin problems since the Nara period. The horse oil used in our products is carefully refined from edible horse oil through seven stages of refining without the use of additives. For this reason, it is an odorless type of horse oil that does not have the characteristic odor of horse oil and does not have a sticky feeling. Horse oil is rich in vitamin E, and since this product uses 100% highly purified domestically produced horse oil, it is resistant to oxidation.
*A trace amount of tocopherol is included in the process of refining horse oil.

About loofah seed oil

Grown without pesticides on our own farm, from the time it germinates in the spring until the end of its growth in the fall, the vines grow in all directions and are about 5 to 8 meters long, and at the same time, the roots grow deep into the ground. It produces large yellow flowers that are about the size of the palm of your hand, blooming one after another, and the lush leaves are even larger than the flowers, and the largest fruit can grow to about 2 meters. From a single black seed, the plant grows into vines, leaves, flowers, and fruits, leaving behind the seeds at the end. Loofah is a plant whose leaves, fruit, and water are also used in addition to its seeds. Our pesticide-free hechima oil from Toyama is extracted from loofah seeds. After harvesting the loofah fruit, the pulp is removed, the fruit is left to dry in the sun, the seeds are removed, and the oil is extracted using careful extraction techniques. All processes are done by hand. Approximately 500 seeds can be harvested from one loofah seed oil, and approximately 120 seeds are required to obtain 1ml of purified loofah seed oil. Loofah seeds contain a large amount of linoleic acid and oleic acid, which are essential fatty acids needed by the body, as well as other essential amino acids and saponins, so they blend well with the skin, making it moisturized, smooth, and healthy. It's non-sticky and slips well, so it can be used to massage the hands and feet of those who are concerned about sagging hands and feet, making it perfect for relaxing after taking a bath.

Harvesting loofah seeds

What is linoleic acid?

It is an unsaturated fatty acid found in large amounts in vegetable oils and belongs to the omega-6 fatty acids. It cannot be produced in the human body, so it must be obtained from food. It is an essential fatty acid because it is essential for the normal functioning of body tissues. It has a high moisturizing effect and has the effect of making your skin smooth.

What is oleic acid?

It is an unsaturated fatty acid that is found in large amounts in vegetable oils and belongs to the omega-9 fatty acids. It is highly effective in preventing dryness, which is the enemy of beautiful skin, and is a component that is naturally present in human skin, and is said to account for 40% of sebum. Since it contains the same ingredients as the skin, it easily penetrates into the corners of the skin, blends in well, has high moisturizing power, and stays moisturized for a long time.

  • Loofah horse oil cream Q&A

Q: What is the approximate amount to apply on the face?

A: It will be about half of the first joint of your index finger. For the décolletage (from the nape of the neck to the collarbone), the amount will be doubled.

Q: Is it okay to use it more than once a day, in the morning and evening?

A: Yes, you can. This product uses only natural ingredients that will cause less irritation to your skin. However, since there are individual differences, please refrain from using it if you experience any discomfort such as itching or redness on your skin.

Q: Can I use it before makeup in the morning? Isn't it sticky?

A: You can use it. We recommend that you apply a small amount and wait for a while (5 to 10 minutes) before applying makeup. I think it penetrates into the skin and makes makeup go on well.

Q: When I opened the lid of the product I received, there was liquid on top of the cream. Is that okay?

A: The clear liquid is dissolved horse oil. Partial melting may occur due to changes in room temperature or outside temperature. There are no quality problems, so please use it with confidence. The liquid spreads even better if you mix it before use.

Q: Why is the cream feeling grainy?

A: Since we do not use unnecessary emulsifiers, cream that has partially melted due to changes in humidity or outside temperature may gradually harden and become grainy. We recommend storing it in the refrigerator, especially during the hot summer months. It will return to its original smooth cream state, so please mix it before use.

Q: Can it be used as a moisturizing cream for baby's skin?

A: Yes, it is made only from horse oil and loofah seed oil, which can be used even by babies.

Q: I have sensitive skin and often get dermatitis. Isn't there any stimulation? Also, can it be used for dry lips?

A: Yes, it is possible. Horse oil is said to be similar to human sebum, so it blends well into the skin and moisturizes the skin and lips. However, if you experience any abnormalities such as worsening of dermatitis or persistent itching while using the product, please stop using it and consult your doctor.

Q: Can it be used on the scalp during the change of seasons?

A: Yes, it can be used. Since the scalp is originally connected to the skin of the face, it can be used in the same way as when applied to the face. It tends to be dry during the change of seasons. When applied to a clean scalp that has been washed at night, it penetrates into the stratum corneum of the scalp while you sleep, deeply moisturizing it and leading to a moisturized scalp.

Q: Please tell me the expiration date if the package is opened.

A: 3 months. We do not use any preservatives or other additives, so please use it as soon as possible. Also, please store in a cool, dark place, avoiding high temperatures, high humidity, and direct sunlight.

Q: In the summer, I notice a smell like lactic acid bacteria while using it. Is it okay to continue using it?

A: This product does not contain preservatives, so when you use it with your fingertips, sweat and bacteria on your fingertips may generate lactic acid bacteria in the hot summer. Most of the bacteria are not harmful to the skin, so there is no problem with using it, but please keep your fingertips as clean as possible before using it, or scoop it out with a spatula. If you experience any abnormalities such as redness or itching, please stop using it and consult your doctor.
